Eastern Ohio Development Alliance recognizes MarkWest

At its annual meeting held last month in Walnut Creek, Ohio, the Eastern Ohio Development Alliance awarded MarkWest the Excellence Award for Large Manufacturer.

MarkWest Energy Partners in Harrison County, Ohio, was nominated for the award by Nick Homrighausen, Executive Director of Community & Economic Development in Harrison County. “What MarkWest has accomplished in Eastern Ohio is truly remarkable,” said Homrighausen. “This award is just a small token of our gratitude to a business that has made great strides in our area in a short amount of time. They have become a good neighbor and a wonderful partner in the business community. Ohio is in a better place because of MarkWest and I thank them for choosing Harrison County.”

Dave Ledonne, vice president of Northeast Processing Operations, said MarkWest is grateful to Harrison County and all the Eastern Ohio counties where MarkWest has operations. “We are very fortunate to be able to work in this region,” he said. “We work hard to be a good neighbor and a good employer, and it’s gratifying that the state of Ohio appreciates us as much as we appreciate being here.”

MarkWest, a wholly owned subsidiary of MPLX LP (MPLX), is engaged in the gathering, processing and transportation of natural gas; the transportation, fractionation, storage and marketing of NGLs; and the gathering and transportation of crude oil. MPLX is a diversified, growth-oriented master limited partnership formed in 2012 by Marathon Petroleum Corporation (MPC).
