Ellis honored for service to US Coast Guard

For more than 23 years, John Ellis (above, third from left) has been involved with the United States Coast Guard (USCG). As a member of Marathon Petroleum Corporation’s (MPC’s) Emergency Preparedness Group, he now serves the USCG in a different capacity as an active liaison, representing MPC at USCG classes and other functions. To honor his years of dedicated service, Ellis was formally presented with the Coast Guard Auxiliary Meritorious Service Medal, which recognizes exemplary meritorious achievement and superior performance of duties.

“John represents the company well with our armed forces, and we’re proud that he received this recognition,” said Rick DeFend, Corporate Emergency Preparedness manager. “This award is well deserved and demonstrates John’s passion for safety and protection at all levels.”
