MPC recently was awarded the Corporation of the Year award at the Catch the Wave Conference sponsored by the Ohio River Valley - Women’s Business Council (ORV-WBC). This award exemplifies MPC’s support of the council’s initiatives, which included developing diverse suppliers and providing support of the council’s first-time attendee Catch the Wave scholarship fund. Marathon Petroleum was selected amongst other companies that included Toyota, Honda, P&G and LL Brands, to name a few.

“I was honored to accept this award on behalf of Marathon Petroleum,” said Supplier Diversity and Corporate Support Manager Bonnie Loch. “The recognition provides encouragement to continuously improve our supplier diversity program going forward.”

The annual Catch the Wave Regional Conference brings female entrepreneurs together to network, learn, and gain inspiration from each other. The Catch the Wave Conference provides networking, training, and access to both women business owners and ORV-WBC corporate members across the Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia region.

Donna James, a member of the MPC board of directors, also was honored during the conference as the 2018 ORV-WBC Trailblazer for her influence and advocacy of women owned businesses.
